If you are looking for non-toy Christmas gift ideas for kids, then don’t miss these 12 really great non-toy Christmas gift ideas for kids that I’m sure your kids will love!

Are you tired of giving your kids toys for Christmas and instead are you looking for non-toy Christmas gift ideas for kids?  I know I sure am!

My brain starts thinking about Christmas gifts ideas in the summer – yep, I’m a bit nuts for sure!  I’m a natural planner, so I tend to start planning for Christmas way in advance, and yes, I’ve been thinking a lot about non-toy Christmas gift ideas for my kids this year!

In fact, my kids have been thinking a lot about their Christmas gift wish lists as well! I love that they are thinking about their wish lists, but I also encourage each of them to write their list down on paper so I can see it, and take it shopping with me, if need be!

WISH PLANNING A PARTY WAS A PIECE OF CAKE?

Now it can be! Let me help you begin the planning process with our easy-to-fill-in checklist. Our Speed Party Planning Checklist will help you begin creating a basic party plan in as little as 15 minutes! It's a game-changer - get it FREE for a limited time!

Christmas Gift Wish List | Frugal Fun Mom

Because I know you are a busy mom, and often feel overwhelmed by all that has to get done during the holidays, I made a handy Christmas Gift Wish List. My hope is that my Christmas Gift Wish List (this freebie is no longer available due to demand – but, if you want it, do me a favor and shoot me a quick email and let me know you want me to bring it back) can help you control the chaos of trying to remember what gifts your kids want this year.

So, I’ve created a handy free printable Christmas Gift Wish List that you can print and give to your kids to fill out. Simple and easy, and it will look really cute hanging on your refrigerator!

Keep Their Christmas Gift Ideas Handy

I like to have my kids hang their Christmas Gift Wish List on the refrigerator and they add to them whenever they have new ideas. I like to keep their lists very handy so I can refer to them anytime I see a good deal pop up.  My oldest son has even created a digital file with Amazon links to everything on his list – it’s actually very nice to have!

Phew! I’m so glad you snagged my Christmas Gift Wish List! Now that you have a nice printable for your kids to fill out of their gift ideas, let me also give you some ideas of non-toy Christmas gift ideas that they might enjoy this year!

12 Best Non-Toy Christmas Gift Ideas For Kids

1. Sign Up For A Class

Child baking | Frugal Fun Mom

Does your child love to bake, cook, paint, create robots or complicated Legos?  Instead of buying them another Lego kit or cookbook, why not sign them up for a baking class or robot building class?

Your child will enjoy learning from someone new and will have fun with other kids who also love the same thing they do!  My kids have always loved taking classes and they always learn a new technique.

2. Gym/Rec Center Membership

Do your kids love to play sports and be active?  Or maybe you wish they did?! A gym membership is a great way for your kids to stay active and enjoy sports!  If your kids are still young, consider getting a family membership so that you all can go and enjoy things together, like the pool or the open turf field.

If your kids are teens, then they may love having their own membership where they use the basketball court with their friends etc.  The great part about a membership is that you can use it all year long!

3. Museum Membership

Museum memberships are a great gift!  Most museums are so large that you rarely can see the whole thing in one day, so having a membership that you can use all year long, so that you can keep coming back, is awesome!

Plus, museums tend to change up their exhibits pretty frequently, so every time you go it’s a different experience.  Also, you never have to worry about the weather! The other great thing  about museums is that they have something for every age group – so it doesn’t matter the age of your kids, I’m sure you will find something that each child enjoys.

4. Zoo Membership

Zoo Membership | Frugal Fun Mom

My local zoo is awesome – in fact, in Denver we have two zoos. Both are fabulous and totally different.  When my kids were younger, my father-in-law would buy our family a membership to a zoo each year, alternating both Denver locations.

We loved it!  We spent many days at the zoo exploring and honestly, we never got tired of it!  I loved being outside in the fresh air and you never knew which animal exhibit would have something exciting going on.

I’d highly recommend a zoo membership if you have a zoo near you.  My oldest son LOVED the zoo when he was younger and never seemed to get tired of it – in fact, I remember going to the zoo three times in one week!  If your kids love animals, then a zoo membership is a GREAT non-toy gift that keeps giving all year long!

5. Sports Camp

Do you have a child that loves sports? Consider trying to find a sports camp they can sign up for.  In our house, soccer is the main sport my kids love.  In our area, there are a lot of soccer mini camps, day camps, or even week-long camps they offer all throughout the year.

Find one of these camps for whatever sport your child loves and sign them up!  Such a great way to keep your kid active and still having fun doing the sport they love!

6. Mommy & Me Coupon Book

Baking With Mom | Frugal Fun Mom

Make your child a simple coupon book of things your child can do with you.  Ideas could be things like: bake cookies with mom, read a book with mom, get ice cream with mom, play soccer at the park with mom, etc.

Simple things that your child loves.  You can decide the rules for how they can redeem these coupons, but the point is that they get to spend special time with mom.  You can also make a book just like it for Daddy & Me too.

7. Family Game Night

Give your kids the gift of playing a new board game and enjoying family game night! You can see my list of favorite family game night games that our family loves to play here: Family Game Night – 10 Best Games You Need To Get

8. Movie Gift Card

Give your kids a movie gift card so they can go to the movies instead of just sitting at home and watching a movie.  I don’t know about you, but I love to go the movies and consider it quite the treat when I get to see a movie in the theater instead of just renting it from RedBox.  It’s about the experience! You can go to the movies as a family, or your older kids can go with their friends.

9. See A Play Or Show

Give your child tickets to see a show or an upcoming play.  Christmas time is a great time to see a lot of truly wonderful shows like the Nutcracker or the Night Before Christmas.  If your child would enjoy that sort of thing, then this might be a terrific idea for them! The best part, you can go with them!

10. Printable Christmas Games

Give your family a free printable holiday game that you can play together. Enjoy playing Christmas BINGO with up to 14 people! Your whole family, even grapmps and aunt Susie will love it! Get your FREE Christmas BINGO now!

11. Sporting Event Tickets

Assuming your child loves sports, then they might love tickets to see their favorite team play!  My son loves the Broncos – right along with his dad, so one year I got them tickets to the Broncos game and they had such a great time!

12. Surprise Vacation

Maybe this year you forego gifts altogether and just give your kids the gift of a surprise vacation instead!  I’ve always wanted to do this, every single year, but we never have because of the expense.

One day, I’m hoping to do this, where our kids wake up on Christmas morning and there is nothing under the tree but one wrapped gift.  Inside are plane tickets for an exciting vacation!  If you have done this before, I’m dying to know all about it – comment below and tell me about your vacation gift.

Those are my 12 best non-toy Christmas gift ideas for kids that you can give this year!  Reply below and let me know which one you like best and which one you are going to give this year to your kids?
