Virtual Party?

Let me first explain where this idea of having a Virtual Thanksgiving Party came from, because I can see what you thinking – how in world do you celebrate Thanksgiving virtually?

The idea came from my son.  Yep.  His birthday was last week and a couple days before his birthday party, his entire class at school got quarantined.  Which meant, his birthday party was cancelled.

He was heartbroken, but before we just postponed the entire party, I had the bright idea to go ahead and give a virtual birthday party a try.  It was a huge success!

So, I got to thinking this morning that I’ll be there are a lot of people who won’t be able to see their family this Thanksgiving due to the pandemic.

Why not go ahead and put together a way to celebrate Thanksgiving virtually with your family instead?!  Which is exactly what I’ve done!

Virtual Thanksgiving Party

If you have been looking for a way to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family when you can’t be in the same room with them – this is your answer!  Throw a Virtual Thanksgiving Party!

YES! I Want Virtual Thanksgiving Fun!

What Is a Virtual Party?

If you are still wondering what I’m talking when I say a Virtual Thanksgiving Party, let me give you some more details!

A Virtual Thanksgiving Party is a simple idea, and the perfect way to celebrate with family that can’t be in the same room with you.  Which is exactly what my family plans to do this year.  Due to the pandemic, my immediate family (my husband, 3 kids, and I) will be celebrating Thanksgiving at home without anyone else joining us.

Our family is spread out in California, Montana, Colorado, and Wisconsin.  We plan to eat turkey at home and then jump online to have a Thanksgiving party in the afternoon with all the adults and kids.  Everyone will join in on a virtual call (we plan to use Zoom), to giggle and play games for a while!

It’s the perfect way to still celebrate, even when you can’t be together!

Now it can be! Let me help you begin the planning process with our easy-to-fill-in checklist. Our Speed Party Planning Checklist will help you begin creating a basic party plan in as little as 15 minutes! It's a game-changer - get it FREE for a limited time!

How to Be The Host

I know what you are thinking.  “Katrina, that sounds great, but who plans the party, and figures out what games to play?”

All you have to do push print! All the planning has been done for you!

Katrina, really? I don’t have to search Pinterest for fun game ideas, or spend hours trying to figure out how to play bingo online? Nope. You don’t. Our complete line of Thanksgiving products are complete party packs that are ready to go. You simply show up and play!

If you are DIY’er, then get ready to jump on Pinterest and start looking for fun games to play.

Step 1: Zoom

All you need to do is get on Zoom, create an account and set up a meeting time that your family can join.  Send the meeting link to your family and tell them to get excited for a fun time!

Step 2: Find Games

Roll A Feasst | Frugal Fun Mom

Look around on Pinterest for some fun games you can play.  I’d suggest easy, interactive games like BINGO, or a dice game – like my Roll A Feast game (which is adorable and is part of my Virtual Thanksgiving Party Pack, Pictionary, etc.   See if you can find some free ones to download.

Step 3: Send Links

After you find a few games, email the links to your family.  Make sure they print them out and have them ready for your game time.

Step 4: Send A List Of Supplies

Make sure you email a list of supplies along with the games, if necessary.  Just so everyone can have everything ready.  If you decide to play BINGO, make sure everyone who plans to play has some type of game marker – like marshmallows or M & M’s.  If you plan to play Pictionary, make sure all participants have paper and markers for drawing.

Step 5: Make Game Pieces

Based off the games you plan to play, make sure you send all necessary game pieces too.  If you plan to play Pictionary, make sure you include some ideas of what to draw that are different for everyone.

If you play BINGO (again, another one of the super cute games that are part of my Virtual Thanksgiving Party Pack), make sure you send a different board for each person, so not everyone gets a BINGO at the same time!

Step 6: Have Fun!

Have fun!  It can be overwhelming to think about being the host and putting everything together, but you can do it and I can help!  Trust me, your family will love being able to celebrate in a unique way this year and will love the effort you put into the planning!
